PJM — Aftermath of mid-October tight conditions; no new alert found today
- 5CP Capacity Tags: No coincident-peak event is flagged for today. The most recent tight conditions were Oct. 13-14, with forecast loads of about 112,400 MW and 113,300 MW and roughly 61,000 MW of generation on planned outage, per PJM Inside Lines.
- Real-Time LMP: No price spike or negative-pricing reports surfaced from approved sources in the last 24 hours. Check Western Hub, NI Hub and AEP-Dayton directly in Data Miner 2.
- Demand Response: PJM dispatched Pre-Emergency Load Management on Oct. 13-14 and recalled non-firm exports. A DOE 202(c) order covering Oct. 13-16 also allowed generators to exceed permit limits and large loads to move to backup generation, per Utility Dive. No new dispatch was found for today.
NYISO — Quiet, no notable signals
- ICAP Tag Tracking: No tag period changes or auction results surfaced. Monitor the NYISO ICAP event calendar for upcoming dates.
- CBEP Program Alerts: No CBEP alerts or activations found.
- Day-Ahead Pricing: No notable zonal spreads reported in approved sources.
ERCOT — Outside 4CP season, no alerts found
- 4CP Season Tracking: The 4CP window (June to September) has closed, so there are no 4CP intervals to watch today.
- ORDC Pricing: No high ORDC adders or reserve shortfalls reported.
- Grid Condition Alerts: No Weather Watch, Watch, Warning, Emergency or Conservation Alert found. Live status is on the ERCOT grid conditions page.
ISO-NE — Thin fall capacity margins under the 90/10 case
- FCM Tag Events: CCP 19 qualification notices were due Oct. 16 and final qualified capacities are due Nov. 2, per the ISO-NE October ops report.

- Load Forecasting: The tightest fall week is the one starting Nov. 7, with a 50/50 operable margin of -309 MW (CSO basis) and -1,147 MW at 90/10. The winter 90/10 margin is negative on both bases. CELT 2027 forecast discussions begin Oct. 23.
MISO — No notable signals
- Zonal Pricing: No unusual zone spreads or constraints reported in approved sources.
- Planning Resource Auction: MISO reported sufficient capacity for the coming year in its 2026 PRA release, with prices falling as new supply outpaced demand growth, per Utility Dive. No Zone 4 alert today.
- Real-Time Settlements: Nothing unusual found. The October demand curve notice is posted on misoenergy.org.
CAISO — Wildfire-driven grid risk, no Flex Alert
- Flex Alerts: No Flex Alerts in 2026 per CAISO’s emergency history. Restricted Maintenance Operations notices were issued in early October, and PG&E warned of more offshore winds and shutoffs through Saturday, per Utility Dive.

HOW INTELLASTAR ENERGY ANALYST CAN HELP
Today’s conditions create specific opportunities — and risks — for your organization.
PJM showed in mid-October that demand response can be called even outside peak season.
Intellastar Energy Analyst tracks PJM alerts and load management events so you know when your sites may be asked to curtail. It also helps you review your demand response enrollment before the next event.
New England’s fall and winter capacity margins are thin if weather runs hot or cold.
Intellastar Energy Analyst follows ISO-NE capacity and load forecasts so you can see how tight margins may affect your costs. It helps you plan ahead for winter peaks instead of reacting to them.
California wildfire weather can quickly turn into supply and outage risk for your sites.
Intellastar Energy Analyst monitors CAISO notices and resource adequacy signals alongside fire-weather risk. It helps you decide when to prepare backup plans and load flexibility.
