Energy Monitoring & Control for Commercial Sites — T-Star 245

SkySpark Distributed Architecture Node — Compact, flexible IoT gateway for straightforward energy monitoring and control.

T-Star 245 compact IoT gateway — showing LTE Cat 1, RS-485, RS-232, and dual Ethernet ports for energy monitoring and control
  • LTE Cat 1 Modem
  • 2 Digital Inputs
  • 1 USB 2.0 port
  • 1 Ethernet WAN port
  • 1 Ethernet LAN port
  • 1 RS-485 port
  • 1 RS-232 port

Energy Monitoring & Control Made Simple

The T-Star 245 is a compact industrial IoT gateway designed for energy monitoring, building automation, and intelligent edge connectivity. It securely collects data from meters, sensors, and building systems to enable real-time monitoring, analytics, and automated control — without the footprint or cost of a larger edge device.

Supporting ANSI C12-certified metering, Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and BACnet/IP, the T-Star 245 integrates with building automation systems, energy meters, and enterprise platforms straight out of the box. Built-in Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and optional cellular connectivity provide reliable communications for both local and remote deployments.

For high-performance microgrid, DER, or VPP deployments, see the T-Star 350.

Built for Commercial Energy Applications

Ideal for commercial buildings and distributed energy applications, the T-Star 245 helps organizations improve operational efficiency through:

  • Energy monitoring and reporting
  • Building and equipment fault detection
  • Automated demand response
  • Smart grid integration
  • Edge analytics and visualization

Its RS-485 and RS-232 serial ports handle Modbus RTU and BACnet devices — the protocols most commonly found in energy meters, BAS equipment, and load controllers. The LTE Cat 1 modem keeps remote sites connected without on-site IT infrastructure, while dual Ethernet ports (WAN + LAN) support both uplink and local device networking.

Edge Analytics & Project Haystack

The T-Star 245 connects to SkySpark as a Distributed Architecture Node, meaning energy monitoring and control logic is configured centrally and pushed to the device — no on-site reconfiguration after initial setup.

With support for Project Haystack tagging and on-board dashboards, reporting, and analytics, the T-Star 245 transforms operational data into actionable insights. Paired with Energy Analyst, raw meter data becomes peak demand trends, energy use intensity (EUI), anomaly alerts, and automated reports — whether you manage one site or a multi-site portfolio.
